Avoid using Donkeyloot.io
Donkeyloot.io is the newest faucet site available from a group known for scamming users. We have previously documented 10 scam faucet sites operated by the same people, learn all about them and what to avoid on our Scam Faucets page. The common attributes these sites all share are, appearance and layout, gameplay and structure, withdrawal limits and payouts, terms and conditions, reviews available, and withdrawal proofs. These sites are intended to payout very few people, if any at all. The goal of this organization is to scam users into viewing advertisements which earn them revenue, but pay out nothing to users. We recommend staying away and please share so that these scams do not persist. Read about the previous ten scam faucets for additional help on identifying these scams, Network of Scam Faucet Sites.
Appearance and layout
We will start with the most subjective observation, but all of these scams have very similar site appearance and layout. Each varies slightly in color scheme and artistic style, however, the main components are all the same if you know what you are looking for.
Donkeyloot Gameplay and Structure
These pages all have the same overall racket. The gameplay structure has the same components. An activity that the user must complete, and an energy component needed to continue to play. On this page, users need to strike a pinata by taping on the swinging donkey, once struck enough it opens and rewards the user with a prize. This is usually a USD value of a few cents or experience points. You are given 50 lives to start, once you are out, you can claim a new life from the faucet each hour.
Site Name | (1) Activity | (2) Energy |
DonkeyLoot.io | Hit the Pinata | Lives |
Withdrawal Limits and Payouts
The easiest way to identify these fraudulent sites is to look at the payouts. These sites typically pay users a high amount of USD for the activity actually completed. In the screenshot above, we earned $0.36 for three pinatas ($0.12 on average). While not exact odds, that rate would imply potential winnings of $6 ($0.12 x 50 pinatas) by just clicking the screen for 10 minutes. This is not sustainable. Any faucet that operates like this would be losing money and would be out of funds quickly. That is not a concern for this site as it does not intend to pay users the funds they “earned”. Donkeyloot is similar to the 9 previously discussed scams, the withdrawal limits are between $5 and $50 depending on the coin you wish to claim. Most $5 withdraw options are typically out of stock, intentionally, making you aim for the higher amounts and earning them more money.
Terms and Conditions/Terms of Service
These scam faucets all include very specific terms of conditions that indicate their desire to defraud users. These terms of service involve wording around the earnings balance having no monetary value, and that final decision to pay out users is completely up to their discretion. This means they can payout if they want to, which is never as the intention is to make money for themselves.
Donkeyloot Review Sites
Reading reviews, such as those that TapCrypto writes, should be a standard practice prior to using faucet sites. For these scam sites, you often find a few initial positive reviews, and overtime the negative reviews grow exponentially as users realize they have been fooled. For example, on TrustPilot, HeliDrops.io had a super high score due to an active campaign urging users to give them 5 stars. TrustPilot eventually caught on and removed fraudulent reviews. Now the score is lower and full of complaints. DonkeyLoot.io is new, so the TrustPilot reviews are all glowing, but already there are some complaints. Most reviews will contain the users site name in hopes that will enable them to receive payments. This is not the case, but purely the result of the campaign aimed at generating fake ratings.
TrustPilot – “Another Scam Same Like helidrop etc which is minimum 5$ always empty” – Legit Earning
FoxyRating – No reviews yet
BeerMoneyForums – No reviews yet
Lastly, on PaymentProof.club, they link to a Steemit article supposedly written by a user. This was posted on November 20th, 2022. The article claims to have been paid by Donkeyloot.io, but we have made a few funny and interesting obserations.
First, the user Weeb3 (@Cristix) is the only person to upvote the content.
Second, the user Weeb3 (@Cristix) only other post is about another related scam site in HeliDrops.
DonkeyLoot Withdrawal Proofs
Even though you find a bunch of positive reviews on sites like TrustPilot, the truth is that you can only find a few payment proofs. Payment proofs are the best way users like us can provide evidence that a site is legit or not. However, with sites like these Scam Faucets, the only real location you find proofs are on sites loosely related or Youtube videos by the operators of this scam. As we previously discussed, we identified a site named paymentproof.club that is related to these sites. Its sole purpose is likely to put out fake payment proofs in an effort to trick users. The funny part from my observation is the obvious mistakes this scammer makes. In a previous screenshot you will see the minimum withdrawal for Bitcoin (BTC) was $50 USD. The payment proof used shows the user sending/receiving $5 USD. This is clearly an insider creating these fake “proofs”.
Conclusion
Our conclusion should be obvious, we firmly believe that DonkeyLoot.io is a scam faucet and users should avoid it. Gameplay, reviews, and fake payment proofs are clear evidence that these sites are related and an ongoing scam operation looking to defraud faucet users to generate ad revenue. Please share with others to keep them informed, the only way to prevent this dishonest behavior is to take away the financial incentives.
This is just the latest in a long line of sites like this. We currently know of 11 sites related, but we anticipate the operator will continue to spin up domains to keep the grift alive. Please comment if you know of other related sites or other frauds currently operating. Our goal is to keep faucet users informed and earning legit cryptocurrency online. Stay safe out there!
